email from jen

Dear Kiki,

I went to site today for a few hours to chat to the park communities that were out and about, and spent a lot of time in the park area and chatting to the dudes in the small park - who are mostly well educated and extremely friendly, and will help the students.
  • - most were incredibly friendly and seemed well educated and some had lived in the area for over 15 years, so two dudes (Marshall and one other) should be at the Old Ouens on Thursday to act as guides and in return I'll shout them lunch.
  • - there were a group of men gambling but the bigger group told us not to approach them and they would disseminate info.
  • - some are very anxious about no pictures - I think because of the foreign issue, so please reinforce to the students NO pictures, even from a distance, without asking first.
  • - the Region F buildings are happy to accept the students,
  • - the older dude with white hair and the dog is apparently a refuge/refugee place, i have his bosses contact details and will try to get permission to access.
  • I didn't get a chance to knock on the houses, I'm sure it will be fine, but the park dudes feel that some houses have dubious activities, I'll stick with the groups on that side.
Boet at Old Ouens, the pub/restaurant on the lake, is more than happy to host the students, and he appreciates if they can all buy a drink each.

Can you please print the attached fliers for the students to carry to give to people should they have queries (3 to a page so please guillotine).

Flyers will be distributed on Thursday morning. ki
